Temporary Highway Maintenance Worker
Classification: Temporary Position with the Potential to become Permanent
Reports To: Highway Superintendent
Self-Termination Notice Expectation: Two Weeks
General Statement of Duties:
- Performs duties as assigned by the Highway Superintendent
- Performs routine construction, maintenance, and repair activities
- Operates a variety of vehicles, heavy equipment, and power tools
- Installs and maintains signs and other traffic control devices
Supervisory Responsibilities:
As delegated by the Highway Superintendent
Minimum Qualifications:
- Has work experience with highway construction, heavy equipment, or maintenance activities
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Other Qualifications:
- Has/must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within six (6) months
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Skill in the safe operation of complex motorized equipment
- Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug test
